The objectives of the Main Beach Progress Association are to see that the social, economic and natural amenity of the community are continuously maintained and enhanced to the benefit of residents, businesses and local and international visitors.
New Membership Year!
The Main Beach Progress Association is getting ready for its AGM. Monday 17 February 6-7pm at the Focs’l Room in Southport Yacht Club. New developments around The Spit, The City Plan and transportation bring some exciting opportunities in the coming year.

In the meantime, memberships have come due. We want your participation and we need your votes. BUT you have to be a financial member.
You can become a member or RENEW your membership. Act quickly as current dues are set to increase after the AGM. Currently $25 individual, $50 family or corporate will increase to $30 individual, $50 family, $75 corporate. Individual members have 1 vote, family members 2 votes, corporate members 3 votes.
Gold City Council Elections 2020
The Queensland Electoral Commission has announced the final distribution of council divisions for the upcoming election. Main Beach, formerly included in Division 7 is now part of a new “super” division 10, including Broadbeach, Broadbeach Waters, Mermaid Beach, Chevron Island and Surfers Paradise. See Map.
All Candidates Meeting
The Main Beach Progress Association will invite all candidates for Division 10 to an open forum for local residents to meet and discuss local issues, understand candidate platforms and objectives and foster dialogue about the future of Main Beach within this new super division. **Update** We have a provisional date in early-mid March at the Southport Yacht Club. 7-9pm
